Leaving Wasilla, heading north toward Denali

Per The Milepost, evidence of the Sockeye fire, which destroyed 55 homes in June 2015.
We took the Talkeetna Spur Road to the little town of Talkeetna. It says in The Milepost not to bring a large RV into town, and to park either at the Northern Susitna Institute ($5/day) or at the Talkeetna Elementary School (free). We parked at the turnout on top of the hill before town, with a view of Denali. There were clouds, but we saw the top of it. Once we got to town, there was a lot more parking room at the elementary school than the Institute. There were a few buses at the Institute.
Talkeetna is a small tourist town. There are gift stores, restaurants, brewery, sightseeing flights, rafting, etc. We parked the jeep and walked the streets and checked out the stores.
And more construction
We stopped for the night at mm 121.5, East West Express Trail; a paved parking area, that has wooden outhouses and grass so tall you can't see what's in it. I think we'll be here for a couple of days. It's suppose to be cloudy and chances of rain the next couple of days, and Curt needs to do some more checking on our AquaHot and now the jeep is making funny noises...never-ending. We had 2-3 bar Verizon LTE, no TV.
