From Page to Paria Canyon, including Carl Hayden Visitor Center at Page and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Visitor Center at Big Water

Before leaving Page, we dumped our tanks and filled water for free at the Public Dump found on Sani-Dumps.com in town. Right outside of town is the Carl Hayden Visitor Center for the Glen Canyon Dam. The dam took eight years to build. The dam’s crest is 1,560 feet long. It lies 710 feet above bedrock and 583 feet above the original river channel.  There are displays inside the building and you can also pay for a tour of the dam.

Carl Hayden Visitor Center at Page, Arizona

     

 

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Visitor Center at Big Water, Utah. The Big Water Visitor Center has fossil and dinosaur displays. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument spans nearly 1.9 million acres of America’s public lands.
