Hidden Acres Family Campground

Hidden Acres Family Campground in Virginia is open all year. They have about 10 sites in the front area that are used for short term camping, with the rest of their sites back in the trees. They have some sites for permanent residents.

We were in site #1, which is 50 amp (some are 30 amp). Our site also had a water hookup. We paid $271.34 for a week (7 days, get 1 free). We had Verizon 4 bar, 14 TV channels with our antenna. They have cable but we didn't hook up. We also were able to use their WiFi.  We ended up staying two more days, and paid $40.70 each for them, $41 with a $4.10 discount, plus $3.80 tax.

They have a office/store, outdoor pool, shuffleboard, mini-gold, volleyball and playground behind the office. There is a dump station and propane tank refill area in front. There is a laundry room and shower houses in the back area in the trees. There's also a couple cabins back there.

On our way to Virginia

This is a mixture of the states we drove through getting to Virginia. From some nice straight, flat roads to squiggly hilly ones.

From North Dakota, to Minnesota and family time,

(You can click on the pictures to enlarge them)

on to Iowa (which the welcome to Iowa sign didn't turn out as it was dark outside).

Next is Missouri

and then Illinois

and in to Indiana.

After that came Kentucky

and West Virginia, where we were just going to take the toll road and be done with it; but we took a wrong turn, took a different road and went on the squiggly roads again.

and finally, Virginia

where we're spending time with family again.

Family Time in Virginia

Family time in Virginia usually involves some kind of remodeling, and this time we helped replace patio doors. They also put motion cameras outside and did a few odds and ends.

This spider was found behind the siding of the house. http://followusinourtravels.blogspot.com/

We played Pokemon Go and took walks and played lots of cards. I did lots of baking and cooking. It was busy! It looks like I forgot to get a picture of Kuiper, their greyhound. He’s a big couch potato.
