Lettuce harvest in Yuma, AZ

On our way in to the town of Yuma from our boondocking spot, there are fields of what we think is lettuce and cabbage. Fields of different sized plants, so they must grow it year around. There were also fields of harvesters. This is totally new to us, so it was really interesting.

You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them in a new window.

It’s amazing the amount of dirt they move to make their fields level, the irrigation systems they have to use to raise crops in this desert area. We were surprised there isn’t more technology for this, but we did find some you tube videos that show robotics helping out.
