Lewis & Clark State Park Camp Host Weekend #1

The last two years we helped with activities that went on in the park such as Halloween in June, Christmas in July, family fun weekend, etc. This session there aren’t any specialty weekends, other than Labor Day. We’re going to help the Interpreter, Juliet, again if she wants and take pictures. She returned from last year, it was good to see her again! This weekend’s theme was Survival. Friday night Juliet talked about a winter survival kit and the kids made fire starters, Saturday we learned orienteering and using a compass and Sunday the kids made compass roses.

It seems we keep going on and off with the burn bans. Poor people never know when they can have campfires! It was a very warm week with temps in the 90’s and got up to 105 one day! That was miserable.
