Moccasin Point Campground, Moccasin, CA
Moccasin Point Campground is part of the Don Pedro Recreation Area off highway 49 near Yosemite National Park. It is $28 for full hookups, 20/30 amp. I don’t remember what the price is for tents - there was one tent, no other campers while we were here. Campgrounds loops A & B were open, C, D & E were closed. We were in A1, a pull through. Loop B had more small sites and most did not have hookups. Verizon signal was good. We got 4 TV channels, 2 of which were Spanish. Be careful as you leave the A loop, it’s around a sharp corner and there are trees also to watch for.
Moccasin Point was our base for going to Yosemite National Park. It’s still quite a drive, but we figured it was better to put the miles on the jeep than taking the motorhome on some of those twisty roads.
The water is way down. The ranger said it’s been for about two years now.
We had wild turkeys go through both mornings.
