We left the boat launch/pipeline area and headed to Delta
Junction, about 8 miles away. I needed to mail some letters and buy some stamps
at the post office, which wasn’t open yet when we got there. There was a large
area to park in while we waited for them to open. I had read that the library
had free wifi which we should be able to connect to from outside the building,
so I walked over there (half-mile away) to see if there was a large place to
park. They have a sign showing RV parking, but no overnight camping. I was able
to connect to the wifi with my phone from there, so we moved to that area and
updated apps and our computers, etc. While there I washed a couple of loads of
clothes again. The Delta Junction Petro-Wash has an RV dump and water, so we’ll
do that before we leave town. We had a
birthday video chat with all of our kids for our granddaughter’s 9th
birthday. That night we stayed across the street from the senior citizens
center near the trees. No signs.

The next morning we went to the visitor information center. They
advertise they are at mile 1422, the end of the Alaska Highway. A lot of people
come into Alaska through that route, we did not. There’s information and gifts
inside the center and outside are displays of the pipeline and the area. Also
two large mosquitoes!
Across the street is the Sullivan Roadhouse Historical
Museum. The roadhouse was moved there and is now a museum. There is a large
garden/flower bed and old military equipment outside. On Wednesdays and Saturdays
they have Farmers Market there. Being Wednesday, we saw a few of the items they
had for sale. They were still setting up, but a majority of it seemed to be
little cabins that had books, antiques and crafts. A couple other people
brought in some plants, vegetables, eggs and CBD oil.
We went to Delta Petro-Was and waited our turn to dump our
tanks and fill water. There water is so slow. From there we headed out of town
with plans to stop at a roadside pullout for the night, hopefully near water or
somewhere scenic.
HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY ALAINA!!!
