We’ve talked about doing the sugar beet harvest in North Dakota or Minnesota, but with the weather at this time of year (October), you never know what it’s going to be. We saw an ad for a truck driver in the Grand Forks area and since we weren’t that far away, decided to give it a try.
We got here on Sunday and they finished harvesting potatoes Tuesday. Then it rained. It’s rained a lot in this area in the past month. Yesterday was the first day of sugar beet harvest. Curt drove three different trucks and hauled the beets to Reynolds. We’re in for a freeze warning tonight. We’ll see how things go.
