Sunshine RV Resort in Harlingen, Texas is a Passport America participating resort and is close to the Valley International Airport, where we picked up family for the weekend. We paid $22.50 for one night, including the $3 Encore charge. (All Encore resorts do this.) When I called ahead, I told her that we needed 50 amp, our rig length, 3 slides. When we checked in and got to our spot, it was all mud, and way too small for us to fit in, have a place for our Jeep and would not be able to open slides. I drove back to the office and she said to check out some of the other empty sites. Many of those weren’t 50 amp or were too small. So I went back again. There was another lady in the office this time, who made a comment that, oh, you’re the one that doesn’t like mud, huh? I said, no I don’t and we don’t fit in it anyway. She showed the first gal a map they have of the 30 and 50 amp sites and gave us some options in a different area. We did finally find a spot close to the front gate and had to park the Jeep in an empty site beside it. This is an old park. There are a lot of small, tight sites and permanent residents. They’ve added some nice, big sites with pavement or concrete pads, but those were all taken (even though some were empty).
