South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center
South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is one of 9 World Birding Centers in Texas. I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see more birds, but I did finally get to see an alligator. They said they’re usually not out unless it’s warm, so I guess we lucked out. It was cool and windy today. I suppose if we had sat there and waited we probably would have seen more. The Dauphins.net site has more information and pictures of the Birding Center. They (Dauphins) were able to walk the boardwalk to the convention center next door, which we weren’t able to do as they had gates that were closed. The convention center had some type of event going as that parking lot was packed. The sculptures are part of a Sebastian Zodiac Sculpture Exhibit which runs from Fall of 2014 to Summer of 2015. They’re at the Birding Center and Convention Center.
