We didn't see a Michigan state sign as we crossed into the state, just noticeable change in highways.
We stayed on the roads closest to Lake Michigan hoping to see the water, which didn't happen very often. Most of these roads are not in good shape.

Lots of vineyards

Now this is advertising for breast cancer.

We weren't sure if we were going to stop, but once we got that far, there is no turning around. You pay $8 at this gate, and then drive further to go to the Windmill Island Gardens.

"This is an original piece of the old blades, used from early 1900s through March of 2000. The windmill was used as a lookout in The Netherlands during WWII. If you look closely, you will be able to see the bullet holes left in the blades from that time."

This is a little hard to read, but it's got the information about the windmill.

Happy birthday Korene.
