While we were at our daughter’s, we got to celebrate our granddaughter’s 8th birthday. First was a family celebration, later they had a party with school friends. Alaina, our granddaughter, had a mad science theme and they spent the time doing experiments – it was a lot of fun!

We went to Wyatt’s strawberry farm to pick fresh strawberries. We made jelly, pie, cheesecake and banana-strawberry bread. Also strawberry lemonade. And, of course, ate a lot of them!
Both of the girls are in 4-H and their county fair was at the end of the month. One of Calissa’s projects was redoing a bench, so we taught her how to sand, stain and varnish.
She’s also in shooting sports in 4-H and likes archery.
The girls had some caterpillars that turned in to Monarch butterflies which they let go.
We painted rocks and seashells, some of which we left at little free libraries over the 4th of July.
A deer in their backyard, eating their neighbor’s bushes.
Programming Bee-Bots at the local library.
We spent a week at Curt’s sister’s family lake cabin with them. Beautiful weather.
