Bullocksville Campground, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, Manson, NC

Bullocksville Campground is a campground in the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, about 20 miles from the Virginia border. We did not make reservations but when we looked on ReserveAmerica, it showed that there were openings, so we took the chance of going there. It isn’t a really big-rig friendly campground. There’s only a couple camp sites we felt would be easier to get in to and there’s a lot of trees. That’s one negative to reserving sites unseen; you have no idea how level they are or the trees nearby.





We picked site 47 which was right by the water and which we thought was most level and easier to maneuver in to. There is 50 amp electric, water by our site, gravel pad. We received Verizon 2-3 bar, 4 TV channels. It cost $51 for three nights with senior discount, $17/night.

       

There’s a boat ramp, fishing pier, bathhouses, playground, picnic areas, baseball diamond, community building, and a dump station. We didn’t use the dump station as it looked hard to drive through. There was a camp host there which we met.
