06/04 – 06/08/14: In to Wisconsin ,
Badger Park
Campground, Peshtigo Fire
Museum
People didn't like following us, but some cut it close when passing. |
Lots of places for sale in the Upper P. |
Huge building, looks like it should be torn down, but there were lights on inside it. |
We crossed the Menominee River, in to Marionette, Wisconsin. Didn't see a Wisconsin state sign.
Waiting at the railroad tracks, not used to seeing lumber
Badger Park, was really busy the last two days of school.
Badger Park Campground, a City campground with 37 sites with water and 30/50 amp electric for $20 a night. They have Wifi but it was pretty much off-and-on. Very few campers while we were there.
Peshtigo Fire Museum, a free museum with artifacts regarding the Peshtigo, Wisconsin fire of October 8, 1871 (the same day as the great Chicago fire), and also artifacts from that time period.
The cemetery next door, with markers about the fire.
The mass grave
