Amana RV Park and Event Center, Amana, IA

Amana RV Park and Event Center is approximately 15 miles from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and 17 miles from Iowa City, Iowa. They are in the Amana Colonies area, which is a National Historic Landmark. The river that goes by there floods occasionally, so they’re moving their office/registration building (which has been flooded) to a different area. The road there is highway until you turn off to their approach, then gravel road, with holes.

Amana RV Park is a Passport America participating campground. They advertise 450 sites with 228 full hook-up, 24 full hook-up seasonal sites, 166 water and electric sites, 48 dry and tent camping. We were able to stay there two nights for a total of $39.60 (including taxes) with Passport America. The sites are gravel/grass. They have free and paid Wi-Fi. Our site had 20/30/50 amp electricity, water, sewer and a fire rings. Some sites have picnic tables. The electrical posts are in the center, with four campers to an area. Two are pull-through, two are back-in. The water was one spigot with four hookups. Sewer was individual. They sell propane and firewood. There is a building with a laundry room, library and small meeting room. There are two large steel buildings that can be used for rallies. There is a 4-vehicle dump station. Verizon service works good.

When we got there, there was a Good Sam rally going on. By the time we left Monday, it had really emptied out!
