Fort Meade Recreation Area, Alkali Creek Campground, SD

We stayed at the Alkali Creek Campground in the Fort Meade Recreation Area a couple of miles from Sturgis, South Dakota. It’s a BLM campground and is $6 night. There are no amenities, and it’s small, but it was nice there. We happened to be there the weekend they were having a horse endurance race. They parked their campers and trailers in the grass area and in the horse campground. It was fun watching.
