5/31 - 6/01/14:  Crossing the Mackinac Bridge, to Manistique and on to Escanaba, MI

Mosquitoes all over the place. Curt used the air hose to blow them away before we put the slides in.

Crossing the famous Mackinac Bridge

How's that for a hot dog stand?

$19.00 toll for crossing the bridge!
Welcome to the Upper Peninsula, where they call themselves "Yoopers"

We stopped at a scenic area to see the water,

and it looks like some people just can't respect things, below pic, what we found.

The trees are in poor shape in this area of the Upper Peninsula

I don't remember where these were, they kind of took us by surprise.

Our stop for the night, Kewadin Casino. We parked on the gravel, free, instead of paying for the electric spots they had on the grass. It was supposed to rain that night and Curt didn't want to be stuck in the grass. It looked like it was pretty soft already.

Cold, choppy water today.
Not very good forest near the road, lots of dead trees

Escanaba, Mi Eskymos (that's an original spelling)
